Checking Your Hotel Room's Cleanliness
When we are staying in a hotel, it is just practical to make sure that the room we are occupying is clean. Besides, what good are a housekeeping department and its entire hardworking staff when the guestrooms are not orderly and neat?
When entering the room, the first thing you will notice is the floor. When a wooden floor is used, you can easily determine whether it has been maintained well. Dusty and dull-looking floors are generally signs of poor maintenance. On the other hand, good hotel managers will ensure that floors are shining their best especially when these are made of hardwood materials.
Although you can see the cleanliness of a room already the moment you enter it, you still need to make a thorough inspection to be completely sure. This includes checking the bathroom and its fixtures, the room's cabinets and drawers, as well as the spaces under the bed.
When you are really serious about ensuring the cleanliness of your living spaces, you can bring your own antibacterial solutions which you can use to wipe the items in your room such as the telephone, bathroom fixtures and the door handles. However, you should not worry about it too much especially when you are in a good hotel because the housekeeping department staff members know their job and the management is smart enough to use the appropriate cleaning materials.
Lastly, when you think the room does not measure up to your standards, inform the hotel personnel about your concern. Sometimes, you do not have to change your room. Just give the housekeeping staff a few minutes to clean up and your room will be as good as new.
